You made it to the weekend, finally! Anyone else obsessed with the Lilly Pulitzer for Pottery Barn release today? It has been so hard not to buy everything just because it was made with Lilly. I have a comforter set from Garnet Hill when Lilly Pulitzer used to partner with them. I have been using it for years and still use it daily.
There were a few pieces that I know are totally not worth the extra pennies. I am trying to save and save to buy a house so I am trying to be a good adult today. I have listed some of the Pottery Barn finds that I found that have a Target replacement for it. Then you can splurge on that comforter set and save on the accents. Give me all the nautical and tassels!
POTTERY BARN FINDS:
Lately I have been trying to find a feminine swimsuit. I rarely wear one pieces, but I have seen so many amazing ones lately. I have linked a few that I have tried and talked about on Instagram. Now I know that a one piece is not usually the more flattering on those of us that are a little more curvy, but hear me out. Have you tried one lately?
As you can tell, I am loving the over-the-top girly look of the ruffles lately. It is completely on trend with all the spring dresses coming out. I would to hear your thoughts on a one piece or if you have also tried any similar suits. Send your recommendations my way!
Have a great day ladies.
A few weeks ago I received a VoxBox from Influenster and Covergirl. To my amazement, it was three full lipglosses! It is very rare to get full size samples to try.
I fell in love with the two Matte shades that they sent me. I wasn’t a fan of the glitter but you know me then you know I rarely ever wear anything on my lips. The matte shades are so natural looking with my complexion. They go on glossy but the almost instantly turn to a matte on your lips. It looks like you are wearing lipstick instead of lipgloss. I will now be looking to see what other shades these come in. I am hooked. I love being able to try to them before I buy them. Again, I received these for free but all the opinions are my own.
I love a good FLASH SALE. I follow several websites daily for them. The two sites that I have been using for years (probably 2010) are Ruelala.com and Zulily.com. I just find them to be the best in sale prices and customer service.
Ruelala.com has Frye Boots on sale today. Some of the prices are AMAZING for Frye. I have linked three of my favorites. I have a wide calf so, as much as I love a pair of calf boots, it is harder to to find my size. Do you use flash sale sites? Are there some that I am missing out on?
Well it is that time of the year again. Halloween has sneaked up on us.
I love seeing the creativity that people have when it comes to costumes. One year, in middle school, I was a laundry basket. I redid the idea again I taught 2 year old toddlers. I much prefer to see a creative costume then a store bought one. I also prefer for the costume to be a little modest then many choose to create. That might be because of the horrible sights I saw while I was in college. Ladies, MODEST IS BETTER THEN SHOWING EVERYTHING YOU HAVE, trust me.
Here are a few ideas that have come from my Pinterest searches. If you know me, I am OBSESSED with Pinterest so if you need any idea, find me. These ideas can mostly be worn to work if your office is having a party too. You can add your flair to any of them but I thought why not share some of my favorites. The operation game is my favorite this year.

I have been loving Old Navy basics for a few years now. You can’t beat the price for the basic styles that you can wear for work or play. Right now they are having a 50% off Fall Styles sale (no code needed) and a 30% off everything else sale (with the code THANKYOU)
I have linked a few of my personal favorite items. I have almost all of these styles in my current wardrobe. I typically do not put my Old Navy pieces in the dryer. I wash them all on cold as well. The swing dress looks great with tights, a vest and calf height boots. My ALL TIME FAVORITE tee is also linked. I love the high low hem because it looks great under anything as well as has great coverage. It does not cling to your mid-section. I love the longer length midi dresses after getting one a couple summers ago. It is great when you want a little more length so you can move around freely when you are on the go. Also great when Maxi dresses are too long for you or you are really tall so some dresses are just too short. If you need styling ideas or to see how it fits just shoot me a message. Happy Hump Day Everyone!
If you are anything like me, you get excited for fall because of all the decorating opportunities. During the summer months, we try to be outside as much as we can. I grew up on the water so I love to be boating, fishing or floating when I can. The fall brings a little relief from the heat and a time to cozy up with another project.
I don’t usually like to do that same thing everyone else does. I like to find new ideas every year. I like to bring a little southern charm to my decor and let it translate to my pumpkins as well. It is harder now that I don’t have a front stoop, but I don’t let that get my down. I don’t typically like to carve my pumpkins since they don’t last when it is still in the 80s during the day. Oh Virginia. Also, if you have children, that might be the last project you really want to take on.
Why not try a little something new? Why not add sequins or glitter? Why not make a little woodland creature? Sometimes we fall into the trap of letting the media dedicate that we need to let children have all the cartoon characters they love on their pumpkins. Why not move towards a more artistic approach? Make some glue spots and have an assortment of textures to let them explore. If you are feeling really brave, bring out the washable paint!
This time of year is for bonding and becoming centered back into our families. Now if you will excuse me, I have a date with a plastic pumpkin and all the sequins that I can find.
